Dallas College Needs Assessment

Summary

Dallas College contracted with NCHEMS in 2022 to perform an assessment to evaluate the need for a new community college campus and for the specific programs that such a campus should host.

Approach

There were two phases to the project that included:

  • An environmental scan to gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources. The data analysis provided a picture of how the postsecondary needs of prospective students are or are not being met. Analysis of the occupational demands and population trends were also evaluated.
  • Stakeholder engagement with Dallas College leadership, leadership from nearly by postsecondary institutions, community leaders, K-12 leadership, employers and employer representatives, workforce development experts, and students/prospective students.
