Background

Erin joined the NCHEMS team in 2018 as the Director of Administration. In this role, she oversees multiple support service functions and human resources for the organization. Erin is also corporate secretary and liaison to the NCHEMS Board of Directors.

Previously, Erin had the privilege of serving in the role of executive assistant for nearly a dozen years with two non-profit organizations in Boulder—the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) and the Boulder JCC. She provided a wide range of executive level support to their leadership and governing boards.

Education & Training

Erin holds a B.A. in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and an M.S. in Marital and Family Therapy from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology.

Outside Interests

Erin considers her most important role to be the mom of two teenage boys and chief logistics officer for the Barber home. In this role, she primarily serves as chauffeur, chef, and peacekeeper.

Erin is a nature lover, and any activity that gets her outside to hear the crunch of gravel on a trail, to enjoy the smell of pine in a forest, or to see wildflowers in a meadow brings her joy. She is also an avid reader and volunteers weekly for a local hospice organization.

Why I Work With NCHEMS

I’ve had the privilege of working with several non-profit organizations over the past twenty years, and what I like best about working with NCHEMS is its long, rich history and its mission-centered work that focuses on improving the lives of and opportunities for underserved populations. The work is unique and complex, the staff are dedicated and focused on advancing the mission, and I am truly pleased to be part of the team and to have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the organization.
